Why Kirishima

Four centuries ago, matcha reached a height it has rarely met since — grown where land, altitude, mist and light happened to meet.

We did not go looking to reproduce a famous name. We went looking for where those conditions live today.

We searched across Japan, and found them gathered again in the volcanic highlands of Kirishima: mineral-rich earth, deep mist that softens the light, and the wide swing between warm days and cool nights that lets sweetness and aroma settle slowly into the leaf.

This is the land we chose.

The maker

Organic is no excuse for lesser tea.

Our matcha comes from a family maker in Kirishima who holds a simple standard — that organic means nothing if the tea is not delicious. The tencha is selected, then carefully stone-milled for preparation in the bowl.

The maker is named with the first release.

For the bowl

A single bowl.

2g matcha · 60–70ml water · around 80°C / 176°F.

Sift the matcha into a warmed chawan. Add the water and whisk quickly until the surface turns fine and even. Drink before the bowl cools.

Chawan sold separately. Amounts finalized with the release.

Freshness

Keep sealed, cool, and away from light and strong aromas. After opening, use within about four weeks for the clearest cup.
